The
5-Pointed Star:
1) To be a channel for students to voice
out their problems or opinions.
2) To provide for the welfare of FASS students.
3) To inject vibrancy into the academic journey
of FASS students.
4) To bring the FASS family closer, students
and staff alike.
5) To positively raise the profile of FASS
students as vibrant and enterprising members of the society.
1) "To be a channel for students
to voice out their problems or opinions."
As a faculty club and a student
body, it is of
paramount importance that we take note of every single
FASS students' problems and suggestions. For example we want help
with your problems pertaining to the curriculum or even daily school
life. Not to mention suggestions for improvement or opinions on
new facilities. We can thus act as a bridge to inform higher administration
of prevalent views.
Proposed plans:
- Weekly or bi-weekly sessions where we will
sit together with fellow students from the faculty to discuss any
possible issues.
- To organize and chair dialogue sessions
in the event of a pressing issue.
- Frequent visits to the various school administrations
to inform them of any issues.
- Updates via student email to the population
in the event of any groundbreaking news.
2) "To provide for the welfare
of FASS students."
Welfare is something every student in FASS
deserves and we are willing to go the extra mile to ensure that
everyone benefits from it. On top of the above plans on having dialogue
sessions, we are also planning to organize various activities that
would bring a smile to your face.
Proposed plans:
- Hold various welfare projects like Exam
Tea and Welfare Bazaar to provide you with much needed refreshment
from schoolwork.
- Giveaways like stationary and foolscap
pads for extra supplies when you need it most.
- Provide services like lost & found
or umbrella loaning when the time arises.
- Possible organization of study groups for
your academic needs.
3) "To inject vibrancy into the
academic journey of FASS students."
FASS has always been known as a faculty full
of vibrancy and we hope to carry on this tradition of a fun-filled
student lifestyle.
Proposed plans:
- Continue the tradition of Project Six and
maintain its status as the most "happening" FOP in the
whole of NUS.
- Organising various traditional events like
Arts Open and Bikequest while spicing things up with other fresh
events.
- Equipping you with new skills through the
organisation of enrichment courses.
4) "To bring the FASS family
closer, students and staff alike."
Nothing beats having a closely-knit family
and we aim to bring the FASS population closer together. No more
eating or attending lectures alone. Get to know your Deanery better
too!
Proposed plans:
-We will work closely with the Arts Club advisor,
Prof Chng, from the Deanery to bridge the student and staff population.
-We will have more activities that encourage
bounding between students and with staff as well, for example, a
Heritage run.
5) "To positively raise the profile
of FASS students as vibrant and enterprising members of the society."
A raised FASS profile means you become more
valued in the working world! Just as the club set a world record
2 years ago, we are looking at ways to contribute to the vibrancy
of the society through joint events and charity work.
Proposed plans:
- Give our faculty a public exposure by helping
out in various external charity projects (like the SHF Charity Show
earlier this year).
